The article "How Soccer Is Ruining America: A Jeremiad" is a biased composition designed to make fun of the sport that has become so popular in America: soccer. The title alone demonstrates what this piece will be about. The tone of this text is ironic, sarcastic, and very opinionated. The author demonstrates lots of sarcastic humor in this article to get the point across that he doesn't think much of the sport. The structure of the article is also designed to get the clear point across. The author has two opening paragraphs, then switches to list his main points with numbers beside each point. He ends with a concluding paragraph, revealing that, in fact, all three of his children are on soccer teams. The theme of irony is really revealed at this point in the text, as the author has been ridiculing the sport, yet he is a soccer parent just like the people he has been ridiculing.

Hi Gabrielle, the above analysis is rather anemic. You can improve it by a) lengthening the response b) analyzing the features, components and arguments in depth, c) using evidence from the text for your conclusions, and d) synthesizing your ideas in a conclusion that suggests depth and insight.
